Microgrid energy supply for agricultural irrigation

Challenge: In the desert, 250-meter-deep water pumps had to reliably deliver more than 100 kW per day, at extreme temperatures of up to 55 °C. Conventional diesel generators were inefficient and risky for powering the pumps.

Our Solution: Lindemann-Regner and Iktifaa Energy delivered a highly resilient microgrid solution: solar PV + diesel backup, housed in a thermally insulated container. Active liquid cooling, intelligent control, and remote monitoring ensure continuous performance.

Project Progress: Installation, thermal management, parameterization for optimized pump cycles, full load testing and integration of monitoring systems.

Result

The solution ensures safe and efficient irrigation even under extreme conditions:

  • Stable power supply for pumps >100kW
