Bess for Grid Reinforcement for Ev Fast Charging Infrastructure

Challenge: Heinsberg saw the construction of one of the first high-performance fast-charging infrastructures for electric vehicles in Germany. However, the local power supply was unable to reliably handle the peak load of 180 kW. Without additional support, charging interruptions, frustration for EV drivers, and potential grid instability were all likely.

Our Solution: Lindemann-Regner stepped in as the technical partner: A customized battery energy storage system (BESS) was installed, combining HyperStrong batteries with our highly efficient power conversion system. Intelligent controls and fast response times enable the system to provide energy immediately during peak loads – the so-called “grid boosting”.

Project Progress: During commissioning, our team closely monitored each charging phase, adjusted the parameters for maximum efficiency, and ensured seamless integration into the existing network.
